The front floors. They look ok, a little surface rust perhaps...

More floors

...not from underneath! Someone has welded a repair panel over the original floor..

Remore the right 'over floor'

Started to cut out the top layer of floor. Allot of the welding here was poor and just snapped off when tapped with a hammer or pulled.

Original right floor

This is whats left of the original floor. The rear section isn't too bad but there are holes in the inner sill and one on the tunnel near the gear linkage.

Remove the original floor

Began to carefully cut out the original floor. When I'd released the inner sill section the outer sill practically fell off.

Fitting up the new floor panel

The new floor panel was a tricky fit. It needs lots of timming and tapping down into place with a hammer. It's also a tricky devil to properly clamp down in place for welding.

Wheel arch

While cleaning up the bottom of the wheel arch where it meets the floor it was obvious this was full of small rusty holes so the bottom was cut out and a new peice made and fitted. It was made slightly long and bent round the floor pan to mimic the shape of the original. It will also need a plate for the sill closure but i'll do that when I fit the new outer sill.

Clamps

Clamping the floor panel down is difficult, I bought several clamps and used them to hold it in position so it wouldn't move or warp when welded. Because the gear linkage is removed I used that hole to insert clamps to hold down the inner section. I still could not get clamps in to hold down the front heel board section.
